Michael Speck provides general litigation services and practices before the Federal Bankruptcy Courts. Mr. Speck brought the case that the New Jersey Appellate Court used to create the law surrounding religious discrimination in the work place. Mr. Speck handles work place discrimination cases, including race based and sexual harassment/hostile work environment matters.
In the past, Mr. Speck specialized in representing people charged with drunk driving and other Municipal Court and Criminal matters while working with Francis X. Moore, Esq. Mr. Speck argued two prominent cases in front of the New Jersey Supreme Court and filed three certiorari requests to the United States Supreme Court. After moving into the field of civil litigation, Mr. Speck has defended or sued companies as diverse as Arthur Anderson, Zurich Insurance and Myers Investigative in his varied and extensive legal career. Also, Mr. Speck represents civil servants, police officers, people charged with motor vehicle issues and insurance fraud issues before the New Jersey Administrative Courts.
Mr. Speck graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, the largest law school in the United States. He tried jury trials while still in law school while working for the Barry County Prosecutor's office. Also, Mr. Speck provided free legal advice in a landlord-tenant clinic and for a group called 60 Plus to senior citizens. In addition, Mr. Speck is a licensed mediator appointed by the New Jersey Court system to attempt to settle legal cases to conclusion. He lives with his wife and two children in Monmouth County, at the shore.
